Anglers visiting Japan can soon add a quirky piece of tackle to their gear: Black Thunder chocolate bar fishing lures. Created by DUO in Shizuoka Prefecture, these lures mimic the size and shape of the iconic snack. The lures will be available in Spring 2026.
For those eager to snag one early, limited edition packs will be sold at the Fishing Festival 2026 in Yokohama from January 16-18. Each pack includes a Black Thunder lure, nine chocolate bars, and a lucky sticker. Be careful not to eat the lure!
These lures are part of DUO's Backdoor Project, known for unconventional designs, including Pokémon lures. This offers a unique souvenir for travelers interested in fishing and Japanese pop culture.
