Yamada Heiando, lacquerware supplier to Japan's Imperial Family, has teamed up with Pokémon for a unique line of tableware. The latest addition features Swinub, continuing the Eto (Chinese zodiac) theme.
A century-old Tokyo lacquerware company, Yamada Heiando, known for supplying the Japanese Imperial Household, is offering Pokémon-themed lacquer bowls. These bowls blend traditional craftsmanship with playful designs, showcasing characters like Swinub.
Each bowl is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans using wood and layers of lacquer, finished with gold powder in the maki-e technique to create the Pokémon imagery. These bowls are designed to stay cool even with hot liquids and come with a matching lacquer spoon.
Travelers looking for unique, high-quality souvenirs can purchase these Pokémon Eto bowls for ¥17,600 (US$115) via Yamada Heiando's website. Customization with a name in maki-e style is also available. Ponyta will be released in 2026.
