Tokyo's Life-Size Gundam Statue to be Removed This Summer
The iconic life-size Unicorn Gundam statue in Odaiba, Tokyo, will be removed at the end of August. This is a last call for anime fans planning a trip to see the 19.7-meter mecha.
The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam statue, a landmark in Odaiba since 2017, will be dismantled at the end of August. This means that the Tokyo area will temporarily be without a life-size Gundam statue. Make sure to plan your visit soon if you want to see it before it's gone!
Bandai plans to replace it with a new "Gundam Landmark Concept" facility. Details are scarce, but the aim is to create a new attraction for Gundam fans worldwide. This follows the relocation of Yokohama's moving Gundam to Osaka for Expo 2025.
Odaiba has seen Gundam statues come and go before, so this may be a temporary goodbye. Special send-off events are planned, but time is running out to experience this iconic mecha.
