An immersive Yokai exhibition is coming to Tokyo this spring, offering a unique blend of eerie and endearing Japanese folklore. From March 27 to June 28, 2026, visitors can explore the world of Yokai through cutting-edge technology like 3D CG, projection mapping, and holographic screens.
Located in Tokyo’s Tennozu area, the Hitohata-produced exhibition encourages visitor participation, allowing you to capture photos and videos alongside animated yokai. The experience is designed to be intuitive and accessible to all ages and language abilities, with text available in both Japanese and English.
The exhibition also provides insight into the historical context of yokai, displaying original ukiyo-e prints and three-dimensional sculptures. Advance tickets are available online and at convenience stores, with same-day tickets also sold on-site (cash only).
